Audits of the National Police and BEB: Meetings were held with control objects in Chernivtsi and the leadership of the OVA

The issues being investigated within the framework of the initiated audits of the National Police of Ukraine and the Bureau of Economic Security were discussed by the member of the Accounting Chamber, Yelizaveta Pushko-Tsybulyak, on May 1 and 2 at meetings with the leadership of the territorial divisions of these bodies in the city of Chernivtsi.

In particular, with representatives of the territorial unit of theNational Police of Ukraine, the Accounting Chamber specialists discussed the current challenges facing the body and the ability of its internal control system to effectively respond to risks. At the meeting with the territorial unit of theBEB, the issue was ensuring that it fully fulfills the tasks set and achieves the results.

Together with the member of the Accounting Chamber, the meetings were attended by the Director of the Department of Control (Audit) in the field of law enforcement and anti-corruption activities of the Accounting Chamber Viktor Podorozhny and specialists of the Territorial Department of the Accounting Chamber for Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsia and Chernivtsi regions (in the city of Vinnytsia).

As part of the trip, a meeting was also held with the head of the Chernivtsi regional military administration – Ruslan Zaparanyuk. They discussed the interaction of local executive bodies with territorial divisions of law enforcement bodies and the features of the latter's implementation of their  functions in the territory of Chernivtsi region.

«Local state administrations are one of the interested parties in the audits of the Accounting Chamber, since within the relevant administrative-territorial unit they ensure the implementation of legislation, as well as legality and law and order, and respect for the rights and freedoms of citizens. Currently, audits are underway at the National Police of Ukraine, the Bureau of Economic Security, and the State Migration Service of Ukraine. That is why such communication is very important for us,&rdash; said Yelizaveta Pushko-Tsybulyak

In turn, Ruslan Zaparanyuk stressed the importance of continuing effective interaction between the OVA and territorial units of law enforcement agencies. He also informed the Accounting Chamber about the financial support provided to them from the regional budget within the framework of the implementation of the regional program.

Let us recall that during the financial audit of the National Police of Ukraine, the completeness and reliability of the financial and budgetary reporting of the National Police are established, the correctness of accounting for business transactions, compliance with legislation, etc. are analyzed. The report on the results of the audit is planned to be adopted in November 2025. And within the framework of the compliance audit on the topic of "Combating offenses that encroach on the functioning of the state economy" the sufficiency and compliance with the legislation of the regulatory and legal framework, organizational and managerial decisions, material, technical and financial support for performing tasks in the field of countering the specified type of violations are examined. The audit report is scheduled for review in July 2025.
