EU4PFM Project Activities in May 2026: Focus on Financial Audits

In May 2026, the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine, in collaboration with Component 5 “External Audit and Parliamentary Oversight” of the EU4PFM Program, launched a series of training sessions that will run throughout the year and cover various audit areas and categories of staff. The first module focuses on financial audit.

Twenty-three specialists are participating in the training sessions, including both audit team leaders and auditors.

The training covers audit planning, approaches to auditing consolidation groups and consolidated financial reporting, preliminary analytical procedures, risk assessment, the role of internal audit, and the documentation of audit procedures.

The training involved working with real-world case studies on risk analysis, identifying discrepancies in financial data, and making audit decisions based on professional judgment.

The financial audit training sessions will continue through mid-June. 

Classes are held in the newly renovated learning space, which was upgraded with support from EU4PFM.

The updated environment serves as a platform for professional exchange, practical training, and the development of an internal knowledge-sharing system at the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine.

On May 15, with the support of Component 5 of the EU4PFM Project, the 10th roundtable for external and internal auditors, titled “When Methodology Is Not Enough: From Inspection to Audit Thinking,” took place. During the event, participants discussed the transformation of approaches in public sector auditing, the development of audit thinking, the assessment of risk management systems, and the importance of professional judgment during audits.
