The Subcommittee on State Financial Control and Activities of the Accounting Chamber of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Budget Issues, during its meeting on May 8, considered the report of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the implementation of the Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2024”, as well as the Conclusions of the Accounting Chamber on the results of the analysis of this report.
During the meeting, the Head of the Accounting Chamber,Olga Pishchanska, emphasized that the State Budget-2024 was implemented at the proper level, but at the same time pointed out certain identified shortcomings, in particular:
- although the overall state budget revenue plan last year was exceeded by UAH 373 billion, expenditures were 2.8% less than planned;
- expenditures on measures related to the security and defense capability of the state, increased by UAH 340 billion compared to 2023, however, receivables under the Ministry of Defense programs increased by UAH 100 billion since the beginning of the year;
- taxpayers' debt to the state budget increased by 29%, which was caused, among other things, by the lifting of the moratorium on tax audits.

According to Olga Pishchanska, these issues require special attention and effective solutions.
«We were provided with recommendations to eliminate these and other identified shortcomings. No comments were received on the recommendations, so we expect them to be implemented in full», – emphasized the Head of the Accounting Chamber.
Following the results of the consideration of this issue, the Head of the Subcommittee Ihor Molotok reported that the Committee will be asked to take note of the Government's report on the implementation of the state budget for 2024 and provide recommendations for eliminating the identified shortcomings.
