The Accounting Chamber of Ukraine Approved the Report on the Work of the Group of Auditors of the Danube Transnational Programme for 2025

In 2025, the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine’s Group of Auditors carried out all the tasks assigned to it by the Audit Authority of the Danube Transnational Programme – Directorate General for Audit of European Funds in Hungary (EUTAF).

The Accounting Chamber approved the Report on the Work of the Group of Auditors at its meeting on 28 July. The document was presented by Serhii Kliuchka, Deputy Chair of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine, who is responsible for this area.

During the year, the Group of Auditors reviewed two draft documents prepared following audits related to the closure of the Programme: a system audit report on the closure of the Programme and the Final Control Report.

The system audit confirmed that the Programme’s management and control system generally functioned properly, although certain improvements were required. The procedural deficiencies concerned, in particular, management verifications, the processing of indicators, the certification of accounts, and the preparation of payment applications.

According to the auditors’ final conclusion, the Programme was generally implemented within an acceptable management and control system. No systemic deficiencies were identified, and its financial statements and final indicators were found to be reliable.

Since 2018, the Accounting Chamber has represented Ukraine in the Group of Auditors of the Danube Transnational Programme and has participated in the independent audit of the use of Programme funds.

In 2025, representatives of the Accounting Chamber also took part in the 2nd Central European Conference for Audit Authorities in Budapest. Participants discussed the results of audits of the Programme, the methodology for audits of operations, public procurement risks, and new tools used by audit authorities.

Following consideration of the matter, the Accounting Chamber approved the Report on the Work of the Group of Auditors of the Danube Transnational Programme for 2025.

For reference:The Danube Transnational Programme brought together nine EU Member States and five partner countries, including Ukraine. It supported joint projects in the areas of innovation, the environment, infrastructure, effective governance and sustainable development. The Programme’s total funding amounted to EUR 274.6 million.
