Performance assessment is important for every supreme audit institution, and taking its results into account in strategic planning contributes to the proper development of institutional capacity. That is why SAIs are constantly improving their knowledge and approaches to its implementation.
The features of the Supreme Audit Institution Performance Assessment System (SAI PMF),the concept and purpose of its implementation, the methodology, the features of the structure of reports based on the results of such an assessment and quality management were discussed during the seminar on the in-depth study of the SAI PMF. The event, supported by the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI),was held in early June in Istanbul (Republic of Turkey).
The seminar was attended by representatives of 15 SAIs, including from the Accounting Chamber:Yulia Myronenko and Olena Pobolyelova.
In addition to theoretical knowledge, the seminar participants had the opportunity to acquire practical skills in conducting SAI performance assessments and exchange experience with colleagues. In particular, the auditors analyzed the SAI PMF domain structure, indicators, and performance assessment criteria. A number of practical tasks were completed to identify the reasons for the insufficient efficiency of the SAI and participated in the preparation of reports based on the evaluation results.
The knowledge gained during the training is important for the future assessment of the effectiveness of the Accounting Chamber.
