On July 22, the Chamber of Auditors was visited for the first time by a delegation from the European Parliament's Committee on Budgetary Control (CONT),the body that oversees the use of the European Union budget.

The delegation included the Chairman of the European Parliament's Committee on Budgetary Control, Niklas Herbst, Vice-President of the European Parliament, Esteban Gonzalez Pons, deputies and members of the Committee, Daniel Freund and Jonas Sjostedt, Head of the European Parliament's Delegation to Ukraine, Maximilian Schröder, as well as the Head of the Committee's Secretariat, Eveline Waldger, and the Administrator of the Committee's Secretariat, Lukas Maton.
The Accounting Chamber was represented at the meeting by the Head of the institution, Olga Pischánska, ret. Secretary Vasyl Nevyadomy and heads of specialized areas.

The parties discussed the most important aspects of the Accounting Chamber's activities in modern conditions, interaction with the Verkhovna Rada and other state authorities, in particular in the anti-corruption sphere. Olga Pishchanska spoke about the implementation of the Accounting Chamber's renewed powers, cooperation with the European Court of Auditors, and audits of international aid. And Vasyl Nevyadomy outlined the results of key audits in the priority areas of the Ukraine Facility Plan.

«Now Ukraine needs international support, your visit is important to us. We also seek to receive feedback on our cooperation and understand expectations from our activities, to get acquainted with your experience of interaction with the European Court of Auditors. I hope that this meeting will strengthen our partnership,” Olga Pishchanska noted after the discussion.

The representatives of the European Parliament Committee, in turn, noted the efforts that Ukraine continues to make to preserve the institutional stability of state authorities and reform them, which is especially important for the sphere of state financial control. The MEPs wished the Ukrainian auditors success in their work and assured their support for further partnership contacts and dialogue.
