The Accounting Chamber initiates the exclusion of the Accounting Chamber of russia from the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions INTOSAI, which unites 196 full members.

That was stated by Valeriy Patskan, the Chairman of the Accounting Chamber during a speech at the EUROSAI Governing Board meeting in Lisbon.

He emphasized that the war, started by russia in Ukraine, is a major catastrophe, and no one can say for sure how long it will last and how many more destruction and victims there will be. According to the speech of Valeriy Patskan, no one has the right to intimidate and blackmail the world with weapon, including nuclear one. "Today, no one doubts that russia is a terrorist country, and terrorists have no place in esteemed and powerful international organizations. Therefore, I call the European community of supreme audit institutions to support the initiative of the Accounting Chamber to exclude the Accounting Chamber of russia from INTOSAI," he stressed.

Valeriy Patskan is convinced that this issue should become one of the key topics at the XXIV INCOSAI Congress, which will be held in November in Brazil. He also suggested colleagues from supreme audit institutions of different countries to boycott all events with the participation of the delegation of the russian federation. "We must be united in opposing the aggressor. And all together we must make maximum efforts to stop this insanity and punish the aggressor," the Chairman of the Accounting Chamber added.

For reference: At the beginning of March 2022, immediately following the full-scale invasion of russia, on the initiative of Valeriy Patskan, the Chairman of the Accounting Chamber, the decission was made about the suspension of the chairmanship of the supreme audit institution of russia at the INTOSAI.
