The Chairman of the Accounting Chamber Andrii Maisner took part online in the meeting of the heads of supreme audit institutions of the Three Seas Initiative countries, which is currently taking place in Warsaw. Like his American counterpart, the US Comptroller General and head of the US Government Accountability Office Gene Dodaro, Andrii Maisner recorded a video message.
«Unfortunately, due to full-scale war in Ukraine, I have to stay at work and make every effort in my daily activities, as it is important for our common auditing work», − he mentioned.
According to him, the unification within the Three Seas Initiative is of great importance for Ukraine and for the Accounting Chamber as a guarantor of transparency and efficient use of public funds and international assistance from European partners.
He reiterated, that due to the countries support at the Three Seas Initiative Summit in Bucharest on 6 September 2023 Ukraine became an associate partner member of the Three Seas Initiative.
«Today, we can state the importance of this Initiative and endorse the Partnership and Cooperation Accord between the SAIs of the Three Seas Initiative countries and their partners, and when Ukraine will join the Three Seas Initiative, and then the Accord shall be formally accepted by the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine», − Andrii Maisner emphasised.
He noted that the Accounting Chamber considers this form of cooperation as an additional tool for the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.
«I am convinced that such cooperation will be aimed at further unity between Ukraine and the European Union and unification of methodology rules of external public audit», − the Acting Chairman of the Accounting Chamber summarized.
Note. The Three Seas Initiative is an international economic and political initiative that brings together 13 countries located between the Baltic, Black, and Adriatic seas – Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece.
