16.10.2025 16:31

Issues related to public procurement within the implementation of the Danube Transnational Programme and the Danube Regional Programme, as well as the results of audits of these programmes, were discussed during the 2nd Central European Conference for Audit Authorities, held on 18–19 September in Budapest (Hungary).

The event brought together representatives of the Supreme Audit Institutions of nine participating countriesof the programmes and Poland. The Accounting Chamber of Ukraine was represented by Serhii Kryvosheia, Head of the Agricultural Sector Control Office of the Department for Control (Audit) in the Field of Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure, and Dmytro Lykvivskyi, State Auditor.

During the event, participants discussed the key aspects of concluding the 2014–2020 programming period and the issues of ensuring transparency in public procurement. Significant attention was paid to audits of the programmes — from the methodology for selecting projects for audit to risks arising from the involvement of subcontracting organisations.

A special emphasis was placed on the use of artificial intelligence in audit practice. In addition, participants reviewed the results of audits of the Danube Transnational Programme conducted by the Directorate General for Audit of European Funds and the European Court of Auditors.

For reference:

The Danube Transnational Programme covers nine EU Member States and serves as a key financial instrument for policy integration in line with European standards in the Danube Region. Its objective is to support the unevenly developed countries of the region in addressing regionally relevant challenges. The Accounting Chamber of Ukraine is continuously involved in the audit of the Danube Transnational Programme and, in May 2025, presented its Report on the Work of the Institution’s Group of Auditors for 2024.
