Ukraine is a key partner for Expertise France, which has been present in the local market with a representative office and projects since 2006. Over the years, Expertise France has built trusting relationships with its partner institutions.

The year 2023 marked a new chapter in technical cooperation between Ukraine and the French Republic. In particular, thanks to the new multisectoral technical cooperation program mAIDan Ukraine, which is part of the assistance provided by the Government of the French Republicto support the recovery process and European integration.

The assistance is provided under the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the French Republic on the Establishment of the AFD Group Representative Office in Ukraine and the Activities of the French Development Agency, PROPARCO and Expertise France in Ukraine dated 07 June 2024, ratified by the Law of Ukraine “On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the French Republic on the Establishment of the AFD Group Representative Office in Ukraine and the Activities of the French Development Agency, PROPARCO and Expertise France in Ukraine” dated 09 October 2024 No. 4004-IX.

The overall objective of the project is to support the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine in developing a specific approach to auditing local budgets in accordance with ISSAI standards, providing expert assistance in defining the functions of the already established IT processes and systems audit unit, providing expert assistance in selecting and prioritizing state-owned enterprises for corporate governance audits, strengthening the capacity of the Accounting Chamber in public policy assessing, and promoting effective interaction of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine with other national public financial control bodies.
