Consolidation of the activities of the Government Audit Authorities of all levels will form a modern and effective system of the public financial control and audit in Ukraine.
The Chairwoman of the Accounting Chamber Olha Pishchanska stated on February 15 during a roundtable concerning strengthening cooperation between internal and external auditors.
The event was held by the Project "Strengthening Capacities in External Audit in Line with International Standards (EU4ACU)" support. Representatives of the Accounting Chamber, the State Audit Service of Ukraine, as well as internal auditors of central executive bodies took part in the event.
"Today the Accounting Chamber is on the threshold of large-scale reforms. This process requires not only active cooperation, but also a change of approaches, improvement of the assessment of the situation, actually, a change of the worldview of each. We have great expectations from such a dialogue," Olha Pishchanska said. She also thanked the EU4ACU Project for the system support of the Accounting Chamber.
Inguna Sudraba, the Team Leader of the EU4ACU Project, expressed her hope that the roundtable will encourage the exchange of experience concerning innovative strategies and best practices, improve audit processes, and therefore contribute to the sustainability of the state institutions functioning.
Practical approaches and mechanisms, which can open up opportunities for improving the activity planning of the public auditors at all levels, were discussed during the event. It was also about challenges of activity planning, approaches to annual planning and features of risk-based planning.
This round table became the fourth. The EU4ACU Project plans to hold several similar events until September 2024.
