The Accounting Chamber of Ukraine proposes to hold the VI Joint Conference EUROSAI-ARABOSAI in Kyiv on May 17−19, 2022.
This proposal was made by the Chairman of the Accounting Chamber, Valeriy Patskan, during the online meeting with the President of the Supreme Audit Office of the Czech Republic, Vice President of EUROSAI Miloslav Kala.
Valeriy Patskan reminded that in December 2019, the Accounting Chamber addressed the Secretary-General of EUROSAI with a proposal to hold the VI Joint Conference of EUROSAI-ARABOSAI in Ukraine in autumn 2021.
He noted that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the XI EUROSAI Congress's postponement to 2021, the EUROSAI Governing Board at its 52nd meeting decided to hold this Conference in 2022. Its topic is "SAI's auditing the effectiveness of climate change policy."
At the same time, Valeriy Patskan reminded that the XXIV INTOSAI Congress will take place in the Federal Republic of Brazil from November 5 to 12, 2022. "To avoid the simultaneous holding of two large-scale international events, the Accounting Chamber addressed the Secretary General of EUROSAI with a proposal to hold the VI Joint Conference of EUROSAI-ARABOSAI in Kyiv on May 17−19, 2022. I hope that the situation with the pandemic in the world will change. And we will hold this Conference in the usual way, not online, "said the Chairman of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine.
In his turn, Miloslav Kala noted that the pandemic has made adjustments to the XI EUROSAI Congress schedule, which will be held online in April this year. Miloslav Kala also praised the work of the EUROSAI Working Group on the Audit of Funds Allocated to Disasters and Catastrophes, chaired by the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine.
