The Chairman (Speaker) of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk introduced to the staff of the institution the new Chairwoman of the Accounting Chamber Olha Pishchanska supported by 252 MPs’ votes.
According to Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Accounting Chamber as a very important parliamentary control body is being reformed. He expressed confidence that the institution will continue to perform its work at a high level under the new leadership.
The MP and the Member of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on issues of budget Ihor Molotok reminded that on 21 December the Verkhovna Rada strengthened the Accounting Chamber by appointing new members of the institution: Kyrylo Klymenko, Serhii Kliuchka and Yelyzaveta Pushko-Tsybuliak. "We have to work together to improve the Law on the Accounting Chamber, which will be the legal basis for strengthening its independence and efficiency," he added.
In her turn, Olha Pishchanska thanked the MPs and the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for their trust.
"The role of the Accounting Chamber is growing significantly in the difficult conditions of Ukraine and the future country’s challenges. The economic growth, acceleration of the country's reconstruction and the trust of international partners will depend on how we set up our work and what benefits we will bring to society," she said.
Previously, Olha Pishchanska chaired the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine. On 5 September 2023, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dismissed her from the relevant position on the basis of a personal application.
