Valeriy Patskan: Supreme Audit Institutions of Europe suspend any cooperation with Russia and Belarus

The EUROSAI Governing Board suspends any cooperation with the Supreme Audit Institutions of Russia and Belarus and any state institutions of these countries. This was announced by the head of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine - Valeriy Patskan.

He said that at an emergency meeting the Governing Board of EUROSAI, an organization that unites 51 Supreme Audit Institutions (50 European SAIs and the European Court of Auditors), decided to suspend any cooperation with the Accounting Chamber of Russian Federation, with the State Control Committee of Belarus and with any state institutions of these countries.

"I welcome the decision of the EUROSAI Governing Board. Now it is important for us to see the principled and tough position of audit offices around the world in relation to the killer-country. We will fight to isolate the bloody aggressor, namely russia, from the entire civilized world!" - noted Valeriy Patskan.

The EUROSAI Governing Board also urged INTOSAI to consider terminating the powers of the Accounting Chambet of the Russian Federation as the President of INTOSAI and to call on the Federal Court of Auditors of Austria, as the General Secretariat of INTOSAI, to assume the role and responsibilities arising from the INTOSAI Presidency, until the authority of the INTOSAI Presidency will not be transferred to the Court of Auditors of the Federative Republic of Brazil at the XXIV INTOSAI Congress (INCOSAI) in the city Brasilia.

In addition, the EUROSAI Governing Board also condemned all acts of violence against the population of Ukraine by the russian military and testified that the current Russian aggression against Ukraine continues to pose a threat to the values ​​and principles of EUROSAI.  The organization also expressed its support to the Ukrainian people and the SAI of Ukraine and called on all EUROSAI members to provide maximum assistance to the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine.

"The EUROSAI Governing Board categorically and unequivocally condemns Russia's aggression against Ukraine - an independent and sovereign European state. Our thoughts and hearts are with the people of Ukraine. The EUROSAI Governing Board supports the people of Ukraine",- the statement said.
