The round table “Building bridges: Better Interaction between Internal and External Auditors” with participation of the international experts Inguna Sudraba and Dace Nulle was held in Kyiv on November 29.
That was the third event organized by the support of the European Union Technical Assistance Project "Strengthening Capacities in External Audit in Line with International Standards (EU4ACU)". The meeting brought together almost 40 representatives of different ministries and authorities. That was the largest number of participants.
The event began with a panel discussion. The representatives of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Energy, the State Agency of Melioration and Fisheries, as well as the State Audit Service discussed the practical interaction of internal auditors with the Accounting Chamber’s external auditors.
The participants also analyzed jointly the regulatory, methodological framework for assessing and using internal audit outputs within the Accounting Chamber’s control activities.
“We are developing the professional synergy between the internal and external audit due to the EU support,” commented the outcomes of the round table the Acting Chairman of the Accounting Chamber Andrii Maisner.
According to international experts, the building bridges of cooperation during such joint meetings between the auditors of the Accounting Chamber, the State Audit Service and the internal audit units of executive authorities are extremely important – this is a triple control over the use of taxpayers’ funds.
